Twelve years ago today, on a beautiful late summer morning, 2,977 innocent people lost their lives after 19 terrorists hijacked planes that ultimately crashed into the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and a field in Shanksville, PA. Of those souls lost, 246 had been aboard the four aircraft; 125 were at the Pentagon; and 2,606 were in or around the World Trade Center.
