DRINKING COFFEE AT WORK: IS IT GOOD FOR YOU?

It’s just one of those things you do. Like hitting the snooze button on your alarm clock, starting your day with a coffee fix is second nature to many Americans. Some need it to jump start the day. Some need it to boost their energy level during the afternoon. And some just can’t live without it. You know who you are.

At the office, like at home and elsewhere, coffee is a diet staple. We claim that drinking coffee at work makes us productive and focused, and doesn’t turn us into crazed addicts. While the jury is still out on how behavior is affected by coffee, recent studies have shown what millions of workers pray daily to be true, that drinking coffee at work may be good for you after all.

That’s right. I’ll say it again.  Coffee may be good for you. It could help decrease risks to cancer, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and extend your life by several years. This makes coffee an even better (and dare I say healthier) choice when you are at work and looking to quench thirst and boost energy.

To celebrate this astounding milestone, check out some of the most recent coffee trends:

  • The Pour Over—a super-fresh, hand poured single cup of joe
  • Cold Brew—requires 12 hours of cold soaking course-ground beans and then filtering them

So go ahead and pick up that mug or traveling cup, you’ve earned it.
