Labor Day The New York Way

Labor Day is the celebration of our great American workforce and the contributions each of us make. It’s a time of reflection, recognition, and of course, relaxing.

For most of us it’s also about the end of summer. One last day to enjoy the warmth, the sunshine, and the gluttonous behavior celebrations are meant for. So the real question is, what are you doing this year?

If you’re staying in the city for Labor Day in New York City, consider making the most out of the great outdoor spaces and attractions.

Have fun with animals at the Bronx Zoo and the NY aquarium. Take a stroll through NYC’s botanical gardens. And of course there are the NYC parks like Bryant Park, Union Square Park, or Riverside Park. There’s always, you know, that big one right in the center of Manhattan too.

Also, don’t forget Manhattan is an island, so check out views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Hudson River from the South Street Seaport and the Hudson River Park.

Lastly, be ready to party. One of the largest parades of the year, the Labor Day Carnival takes place in Brooklyn.

No matter what you decide to do today, be sure to enjoy yourself!
